How to get to Rouen (from Paris)

Please bear in mind that Wednesday, May 1st is a public holiday in France (Labour Day) as elsewhere in Europe.

After arriving in Paris, either by train or by plane, you will have to reach Gare Saint Lazare to take a train to Rouen.

You will most likely have to ride either the Paris metro or the bus and each ticket will cost you 2.15€. (You can also buy a “Navigo” pass, which can be charged and used for several rides).

Tickets and passes can be used on all metro lines or buses within central Paris.

Here is how to reach Gare Saint Lazare from the different airports and train stations.

  • From Charles de Gaulle Airport: Roissybus

The airport provides a shuttle service (“Navette”) called Roissybus. It runs from the airport to the Opéra bus stop, at the heart of Paris. The ticket from CDG airport to Opéra will cost you 16.60 €. The bus runs every 15/20 minutes and the ride will be an hour long.

After arriving at Opéra bus-station, you will have to go to Gare St Lazare. You can either go by foot (it should take 10 minutes) or ride bus line 66 towards Saint-Ouen - Les Docks from bus stop Gluck – Haussmann to Gare Saint Lazare (4 stops).

  • From Orly Airport: Orly Bus

The airport provides a shuttle service (“navette”), called Orlybus. It runs from Orly airport to the Denfert-Rochereau metro station.  It will cost you 11.50€. The bus runs every 15/20 minutes, and the ride will be 30 minutes long.

After arriving at the Denfert-Rochereau bus-stop, outside the metro station, you will have to go to Gare St.Lazare. In order to do so, you need first to go to Gare Montparnasse, (using line 6, heading for Charles de Gaulle Etoile, or line 4, heading for Porte de Bagneux), and change for Line 13 (Paris Metro), going north towards Asnières-Gennevilliers Les Courtilles and stop at Saint- Lazare (8 stops).

  • From Gare de Lyon

To reach Gare St Lazare from Gare de Lyon, you will have to ride Line 14 (Paris Metro) heading for Mairie de Saint-Ouen, to Saint-Lazare (4 stops).

  • From Gare de l’Est

To reach Gare St Lazare from Gare de l’Est, you will have to ride bus line 32 towards Porte d’Auteuil, stopping at Pasquier-Anjou (11 stops).

  • From Gare du Nord

From Gare du Nord, look for the departure point for RER trains (second floor underground).  Take RER line E (westbound) towards Haussmann St. Lazare. This is the last stop on the line. The transfer will take around 20 mins.

How to get to Paris (from Rouen)

Unfortunately, several trainlines connecting Rouen to Paris will be undergoing repair work during the weekend of the Conference. That will be the case for the Le Havre-Rouen-Paris and the Rouen-Vernon (Giverny)-Paris lines. Due to these circumstances, fewer trains will circulate, and they will take a longer route. We recommend being mindful of the possible delays and booking your tickets as soon as possible as they will sell out fast.

It is also possible that no train will circulate at all. In that case, the SNCF will provide a bus service, for which you will also have to book a ticket in advance.
